29may Ankur 29 May was a nice clear day in the western half of the state. We flew an ABL mission using the King Air to the west, the NRL P-3 doing a larger area moisture map and the Falcon running N-S long legs (plus a few E-W) over the King Air. Beautiful BL structure (1-3 km differences in ABL depth in both the E-W and N-S directions!). I almost got to fly on the DLR Falcon, but at the last minute they needed my seat for a technician to deal with the dropsonde system. I blasted my ears standing in front of the DLR jet engines for an hour waiting on standby, and then again in front of the P-3 taking pictures. For this mission, we also had Yvette (Richardson) and Josh (Wurman) take the mobile Doppler on Wheels out over to the Homestead/S-Pol area to take quad doppler images (12 Gigs worth) around the King Air track.
