26may Ankur On 26 May, our mission turned into a non-mission. The forecasters predicted heavy cloud cover over the entire IHOP domain. We wanted to fly the King Air and Falcon over the "east" leg in southern Kansas (SE of Wichita). Alas, we ended up canceling the mission. And then, poof, the clouds dissapeared - it was a sunny, warm day with 10 knot wind from the south. Well we can't win all the time. The mission scientist summary for 26 May in the field catalog http://www.joss.ucar.edu/cgi-bin/catalog/ihop/report/index gives my thoughts on it. Since no one seemed all excited about 27 May, we reproposed an ABL mission - same thing except use the P3. The Falcon needed a down day before Tuesday, and giving it earlier allowed them to get the doppler lidar (HRDL) back up.
